When young people read more than just their classroom assignments, research clearly shows that they generally do well in school. Personal choice is important, so be sure to use the Reading Resources below. Don't forget Sora, our online platform for ebooks and audiobooks and ComicsPlus, our platform for graphic novels and manga (access it by clicking on MackinVIA in Clever).
If you are attending DHMS in the fall of 2023, your summer reading handouts are linked below. Students should read at least two books of their choice during the summer. The handout gives some good options, but the choice is yours. |
Summer CheckoutIf you are returning to DHMS in August, 2023, you can check out up to 10 books for the summer beginning on May 15. Fill out the form below and bring it to Ms. Kochel or email it to marcia_kochel@dekalbschoolsga.org.

Recommended Reading
